Lars Vålandsmyr Torstveit created a very cool in deep tutorial to create rigs in 3dsmax for mechanical machines. He is using a free cad model that you can also download online, and create a complete FK/IK rig with multiple controls.
Its rear to found good mechanical rigs tutorials, and even more difficult to found them free, so thanks a lot Lars!
