Neil Blevins is a huge 3ds Max veteran. Very reputable for his artistic eye, and also very well known for his incredible 3dsmax scripts collections “Soulburn scripts” for 3dsmax (Totally free) : http://www.neilblevins.com/art_assets/scripts/soulburnscripts_for_3dsmax.htm
On his webpage he had long lists of writen tutorials focused not so much on the technical side, but on the artistic side about compositing, that can be applied in Photography, 2d composition and… 3d . I am a big fan of his work.
Now he is translating all his knowledge in to youtube videos that are absolutely a gem. You can follow them no matter what software you use, but he is using mostly 3dsmax to showcase how he works his amazing compositions. Here some examples:
